TwoMorrows Publishing
Two of us. A lot of comics history.
In 1989 John and Pamela Morrow opened a design studio in Raleigh and named it TwoMorrows, because there are two of them. A few years later Jack Kirby died, John pulled his old comics off the shelf, and a spare-time newsletter for 125 Kirby fans turned into a publishing house.
Magazines with a point of view
Alter Ego and Comic Book Artist both won Eisners. Draw! and Write Now! teach the craft. Back Issue, Rough Stuff, BrickJournal, Comic Book Creator, RetroFan and Cryptology cover the comics, cartooning, LEGO and pop culture people actually grew up with.
Books that stay on the shelf
The trade paperbacks run from creator histories to how the work gets made. Different decades, different genres, the same standard: real research, the people who were there, and a book you want to finish.
Still edited by people
Michael Eury built Back Issue. Roger Ash edits it now. Ed Catto has RetroFan. Peter Normanton is on Cryptology. Jon B. Cooke came back for Comic Book Creator. The names on the masthead are the people doing the work.
What you can count on
History and the creators behind it, told with a light touch and produced properly. That has been the brief since the first issue.
A fourth decade
2025 is year thirty-one. The magazines are still coming, the book line is still growing, and new readers are still finding the one title that feels like it was made for them.
